Cancer Research for the Ozarks Cancer Research for the Ozarks (CRO) was originated and funded by the National Cancer Institute and is supported by both CoxHealth and St. John's Health System. For many cancer patients throughout the Ozarks region, being a part of a research trial has saved their lives, enhanced their quality of life, or extended life in a meaningful way. Because of Cancer Research for the Ozarks, many patients need not travel long distances to participate in clinical trials. The physicians at Oncology-Hematology Associates support cancer research as we believe clinical trials, also known as research, offer the best in cancer care. It is important for you to know our patients on clinical trials get standard therapy--or what they would normally get without being on a clinical trial. However, patients have the opportunity to receive an additional drug or treatment depending on which part of the study they are enrolled. Either way you always get standard treatment or what you would normally get without being on a clinical trial. You can find out more about Cancer Research for the Ozarks by reviewing their web site at www.ozarkscancerresearch.org. We encourage you to consider a clinical trial if you are found eligible. |
